Ethical Trading Policy
POLICY STATEMENT
PAGMAT, as a responsible food processor, complies to all the relevant standards of Ethical supply and legislations of Turkey.  In this concept, the standards set out below forms that decent working conditions are provided for all those people involved in the production steps of our goods.

STANDARDS
PAGMAT, meets all the legislations of health and safety in Turkey to keep safe and healthy working environment,  equipment and system of work from the point of food and also employee and provides necessary information, training and supervision. Factory manager is responsible from all these activities.

PAGMAT workers are never exposed to physical, mental, moral, spiritual threatments or verbal abusements. PAGMAT never employs any forms of harassment or  intimidation.

PAGMAT workers are never discriminated with respect to employment, promotion, training, renumeration, compensation or other benefits in relation to race, caste, national origin, marital status, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or union membership unless propagated in working site.

PAGMAT, never engage in or support the use of child labour.

PAGMAT, never supports modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labor in its premises. PAGMAT, never supports any human rights impacts neither in its body, nor in its supply chain and supports the remedial actions.

PAGMAT provides training for basic food processing facilities and other, appropriate to the work being undertaken and supplies opportunities to develop themselves in PAGMAT culture.

All workers are informed at the beginning of employment about working conditions and hours, overtimes and wages, disciplinary measures all of which are designated in signed contracts of employee and basic food processing and health and safety rules which are given in PAGMAT Manual for Employees.

PAGMAT meets at least minimum employment criteria for beginner workers, which are minimum legal wage with social security insurance, legal working hour and overtimes, lunch, medical treatment, and transport service. Religious days and worships are given special importance and extra food supply is provided in fasting month.

PAGMAT, gives opportunities to previously convicted and disable people for working and a reasonable life standard if found to be suitable for our process conditions.

All of the above statements are also expected to be applied by all ingredient and material suppliers of PAGMAT.

PAGMAT never allows and forgives any kind of bribery in its trading, production facilities, official  facilities and inside or outside of the company by any worker.

PAGMAT never allows and forgives any kind of impropriety in its trading, production and official facilities in and outside of the company by any worker.

 

Human Rights Policy

Pagmat respects the human rights in all means in its premises and at its placement environment.

In order to support this, different policies such as Ethical Working & Trading, Health & Safety, Environment and Sustainability policies are in place.

Pagmat applies “Open Door” policy by means of which, each and every worker at each level has the right to contact to the relevant manager to express him/herself about any issue related with working environment/conditions. additionally, senior management meets with workers and their representatives separately to listen problems and to remedy.

Management has the responsibility of listening any personal or group problem/advice to plan/start actions to improve the working environment/conditions.

Employments are chosen completely from volunteer applicants. Working & employment conditions are informed clearly prior to employment. Contracts are totally compatible with Turkish Labour Law and a copy of contract and Pagmat Code of Practice for employment are given to the employee to let his/her know about their rights legally.

Employees are never required to deposit their identities to the site, yet, copies are taken to keep in their employment files officially.

Pagmat gives opportunity to disabled and ex-convicted volunteers to contribute their reintegration into society.

Pagmat never employs child labour except for school apprentices who are controlled by their teachers regularly on their working environment.

Pagmat gives special importance to women empowerment in its organisation by hiring women labour at all levels.

Pagmat always give importance to contribute to social, cultural and economical life of its employees & shareholders at its environment by creating an economical value in local and international level.

Pagmat has donations of school, health clinic, sport club and premises, children playground to contribute its employees, children and general public rights to education, health service at different levels. Also has the intention of contributing to national or international social activities where possible.

Pagmat never engage in or support the modern slavery or human trafficking, forced or copulsory labour, mobbing kind of behaviours within its employees. Also investigates the supply chain to prevent any similar activity.

Pagmat has the action systems, teams and audits to support and verify its policy for human rights as mentioned above. This system includes the supply chain to prevent any human right impacts.

Pagmat has the values of being reliable, fair, honest, customer & worker focused, clear, smiling and sharing.
